As expected, Apple will not be releasing their newest next-generation smartphone, the iPhone 7, until Fall 2016. With several months ahead, they still have an abundant amount of time to develop and change several different aspects and attributes about the phone. Although we have a while to wait, there have been recent rumors and speculations about the appearance of the new smart device as well as what innovative features it will encompass.
What should come as a surprise to no one will be an improved camera and upgraded processor. The tech experts over at iPhone Repair 4 Less have concluded that 2016 will be the year of many great new features. From what Apple has reported, they are planning on sticking to the 4.7 & 5.5-inch screen sizes that were first seen with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models. In terms of design, it has been suggested that it will look similar to the design of the iPhone 6s, but will be thinner and may have a camera that protrudes less.
Design
As mentioned above, the iPhone 7 is expected to be thinner than its predecessor especially with the highly anticipated rumor of the elimination of the headphone jack. Other design features include advances in in-cell panel technology as well as a slimmer lightning port which contributes to the phones slimness, The iPhone 7 will perhaps be as thin if not thinner than the iPod touch. Rumors suggest that the phone will be between 6.0mm and 6. 5mm. It has also been mentioned that Apple may be doing way with the thick white antenna bands that are currently located across the back of the iPhone 6.
No Headphone Jack
You heard that right. One of the biggest rumors is that Apple will finally be laying the headphone jack to rest! This will decrease the thickness of the iPhone 7. The elimination of the headphone jack introduces the adaptation of the lightning port taking over this role. This mean that the lighting port will now support charging the phone as well as providing music playback with lighting-equipped headphones. Other rumors include the introduction of wireless earphones that will operate through Bluetooth signal.
Dual-Lens Camera
It has been rumored that Apple has acquired new technology through purchases made from Israeli camera company, Linx Imaging. The rumor describes a 12-megapixel dual-lens camera system that is made possible through their recently made purchase. If true, substantial improvements will be made for the image quality of the iPhone 7 and could potentially narrow the gap between photos taken with the smartphone and those taken with a DSLR camera.
Wireless Charging
It is obvious that Apple is enjoying the idea of exploring wireless technology. This has been seen through the wireless headphone concept rumored earlier this year. With this being said, Apple would act as pioneers in the wireless charging field and we have no doubt that this will be a prominent feature of the iPhone 7.
