There has been a lot of controversy following Apple around with the release of their two new iPhone models, the 5S and the “lower end” model, the 5C. Apple can now laugh at all that controversy as they have broken their own sales record for the release of a new iPhone. Within just one week’s time, Apple sold 9 million iPhones between both new models.
While Apple did not mention the actual breakdown of the figures – which iPhone won the bet – they did state in their press release that they sold out of the initial stock for the iPhone 5S. Can Apple really be that surprised? Wall Street punished them for making the 5C too expensive and not selling in the market’s that they should have been, so yeah, no kidding the 5S sold more.
Now, it is all about Apple figuring out which iPhone’s are dominating the mobile market. Since they didn’t define which iPhone’s were the most popular, anecdotal observations are suggesting that the gold iPhone 5S sold out first online and many consumers could not find the phone in stores unless they were in front of the line. For the iPhone 5C, the same type of reports are showing that the blue and pink iPhone’s are the most popular while the yellow is only making up about 10 percent of the phone’s overall sales – ouch.
Which iPhone are you leaning more towards?
