Scott, Louisiana – the Boudin Capital of the World and home to the Scott Boudin Festival. In 2012, the City of Scott was named the “Boudin Capital of the World” by the Louisiana Legislature. Scott is the center of Boudin through the successful and hardworking owners and staff of – Don’s Specialty Meats, The Best Stop Supermarket, Billy’s Boudin, Menard’s Grocery, Nunu’s Grocery, and Kartchner’s in Scott.
Boudin, a spicy Cajun sausage, is a Cajun favorite for breakfast, a snack, or simple meal. Boudin is traditionally a blend of cooked pork, rice, onions, and seasonings stuffed into a sausage casing. Boudin get creative with fillings like crawfish, shrimp, deer, cauliflower, chicken, or beef. Boudin can also be found fried in a ball, stuffed with cheese, or used as a filling for eggrolls, bread, and king cake.
