In one of Apple’s final pushes to remain as the giants within technology development, they are asking the federal court to ban the sale of Samsung phones and tablets. The docket was filed in California after Apple made a claim that the smartphones and tablets produced by Samsung were in violation of their patent.
While this does not affect the latest in Samsung’s designs, they are seeking a ban on:
- Captivate
- Continuum
- Droid Charge
- Epic 4G
- Exhibit 4G
- Galaxy S
- Galaxy S 4G
- Nexus S 4G
- Vibrant
Just to name a few, and they are also going after three versions of Samsung’s Galaxy S II – Oh, and of course, they are going for a ban on the Galaxy 10.1 tablets. A majority of Samsung’s newest products went unmentioned at the trial due to the “fast product cycles in the industry,” according to Yahoo! News.
A South Korean, technology firm – one of the largest makers in smartphones – has been ordered to pay Apple over $900 million for issues that arose during the trial. However, even with the pending lawsuit, Samsung’s sales have not remotely been affected, they have actually taken the lead on Apple in a majority of smartphone markets, globally.
