While Apple has been doing a good job with keeping spoilers for the iPhone 6 hush-hush, one thing is certain and that would be that this new iPhone will finally be getting a new and innovating design. Every year, Apple sells around 150 million iPhone’s – and up until this latest model, all those 150 million iPhone’s have generally looked the same, minus the color changes with the 5C and 5S.
iPhone 6 To Give Different Vibe
Just last week, technology fans all over were expecting the iPhone 6 to be released in May, but now that May date is being pushed back. With Apple being such a public, popular company, it’s very difficult for them to keep any design rumors at bay.
It’s their inability to keep a secret that is making potential iPhone 6 users aware of Apple possibly taking away the Gorilla glass that the touch screens have been made of – and switching it to Sapphire glass coating.
How do we know this?
In November of 2013, Apple paid a lot of money – and we mean a lot – totaling $578 million to GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT). What does GTAT going to help Apple do? Produce massive quantities of Sapphire – a product that is most commonly used in high-end watches to prevent scratching and increase durability.
Now, according to Forbes – we know two things,
- GTAT is absolutely making Sapphire crystal for Apple production
- The iPhone 6 will come out in the second half of 2014
At least they’re making iPhone’s more durable – at this point, if any of the previous models hits the pavement hard, it’s like watching a tin can covered in glass get crushed. At iPhone Repair 4 Less, we’re pretty excited to see what Apple releases for their iPhone 6, because as we’ve said before, Apple needs an innovative design upgrade if they want to keep their clientele.
