Always Wait to Update Your Software

Many iPhone users have experienced horrible problems after updating their devices. That being said, it’s important to take great care when it comes to updating your device. While software updates exist for a reason, they are not necessary especially when the integrity of your phone is at stake. Most recently, there have been a slew of problems with iOS 6.1.4 updates. The problems have ranged from Wi-Fi being dropped to batteries not working anymore. This is extremely frustrating for iPhone users because they most likely paid a large amount of money for their phone and now, instead of seeing improved performance due to the software updates, they are unable to use their phones the way that they are intended to be used. Perhaps the worst part about this is that oftentimes there are no fixes for the problems that occur during an iPhone update. The worst stories we have heard of those of people losing everything in their phone-particularly their contacts, after doing an iPhone update. If your information is not backed up, this could end up being a complete nightmare.

Updating

Another common problem after updating iOS for iPhones is that people’s cameras stop working. The iPhone camera is a huge selling point and to have it stop working is not only disheartening, it can affect your entire day. A lot of people use the iPhone cameras as a part of their everyday life, whether for business, to communicate with family, or socially. For an update to ruin that aspect of a phone is not something that you should take lightly. The best thing to do before you consider updating your iPhone is to get on the internet and start reading about specific updates, causes of malfunctions, what to look out for etc. and determine whether or not updating your phone is worth the risk. Furthermore, don’t expect Apple to come up with an immediate solution if something happens to your iPhone during an update. As we mentioned before, Apple has no solutions for many of the problems presented during an iOS update and when they do come up with patches and fixes it takes days and sometimes weeks to do so. Depending on how important your phone is to your day to day life, this could be a huge set back. That’s why it’s important to get your hands dirty and conduct a little research before you update your iPhone.

If you’ve already updated your iPhone and you’ve noticed that you’re having issues, the best thing to do is to go to an iPhone repair shop such as iPhoneRepair4less in Lafayette so that they can troubleshoot the issue with you and hopefully restore your phone to its functioning state or at least tell you how to do so yourself.
